Lt. Col. Jim Ogonowski (Ret.)

Though I am in Arizona, I pay attention (or at least try) to all kinds of races around the country. And in Mass. there is a race where Lt. Col. Jim Ogonowski (Ret.) is running against the incumbent for congress. I got this from Hugh Hewitt's site and wanted to help in anyway I can. I embedded the widget below for anyone to see. Here, I will let Patrick Ruffini explain;

Posted by: Patrick Ruffini at 3:11 PM There's a special election coming up in Massachusetts' 5th district -- and make sure you're sitting down -- we have a chance at an upset. The GOP candidate is Lt. Col. Jim Ogonowski (Ret.) and a SurveyUSA/WBZ poll out last week had him within 10 points of entrenched Democrat Niki Tsongas, widow of the late Senator and presidential candidate.

That's remarkable against someone with 100% name ID... in the current political environment... in Massachusetts! If Jim's name sounds familiar it's probably because his brother John Ogonowski was the pilot of American Airlines Flight 11 on September 11th. Jim is a 28 year veteran of the Air Force and Air National Guard. Through Rightroots, we're kicking off a blogosphere-wide fundraising effort for Jim Ogonowski. Joining us will be two of the leaders of the Bay State's Republican blogosphere, Hub Politics and Red Mass Group.

We have an embeddable widget with YouTube videos you can use to learn more. Anyone embedding this widget or otherwise participating will be listed in my posts about this at HughHewitt.com and PatrickRuffini.com. Please leave a trackback either at my site or at Hugh's to tell us if you're in. (Obviously the sooner you do this, the better the chance you have of getting in the post while it's high on the page.) What better way to kick off 2008 than with a stunning upset in the land of Kennedy & Kerry? Please chip in what you can.
